The Char Dham Pilgrimage Through the Himalayas

The Char Dham Yatra is one of Hinduism's most revered pilgrimages, a nine day spiritual journey through four sacred temples nestled in the alpine valleys of Uttarakhand. From the source of the River Yamuna at Yamunotri to the shrine of Lord Vishnu at Badrinath, this expedition traces the heart of Hindu faith across some of the most stunning mountain terrain in India.

Each of the four dhams holds profound spiritual significance: Yamunotri sits at 6300 meters where the Yamuna springs from glacial peaks; Gangotri marks the source of the sacred Ganga River; Kedarnath enshrines one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva in a valley surrounded by towering summits; and Badrinath, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, receives pilgrims from across the world. The journey weaves between these temples across high passes and through pristine Himalayan wilderness, offering both spiritual nourishment and spectacular mountain vistas.

This package handles all logistics, private transfers, accommodation in comfortable hotels and daily breakfast and dinner, allowing you to focus entirely on the sacred experience of the pilgrimage and the raw beauty of the Himalayan landscape.

Best Time for the Char Dham Pilgrimage

The Char Dham temples are accessible from May to October, with the peak pilgrimage season running from June to September when weather is most stable and mountain roads are fully open. May offers pleasant spring weather and fewer crowds, while September and October provide clear skies and comfortable temperatures. The monsoon months from June to August bring occasional rains but also verdant landscapes and fewer pilgrims. Winter snow closes many roads and temples from November to April.
