Mangrove Majesty and Crocodile Encounters
The Creeks and Crocodiles catamaran cruise is an immersive three-day voyage through Bhitarkanika National Park, India's second-largest mangrove ecosystem and home to the world's largest population of saltwater crocodiles. Departing from the small village of Gupti in Odisha, you will sail through pristine creeks and waterways aboard a luxury catamaran, exploring a landscape unchanged for centuries.
Each day brings new encounters with wildlife: massive saltwater crocodiles basking on mudflats, spotted deer alert at water's edge, monitor lizards darting through mangrove roots, and over 200 species of birds including eight varieties of kingfisher. The mangroves themselves are a marvel, their tangled root systems filtering saltwater and providing refuge to countless creatures. Evening village walks offer glimpses into the traditions of local communities that have lived in harmony with these creeks for generations.
The package includes luxury catamaran accommodation with fine dining featuring regional Odia cuisine, expert naturalist guides who interpret the ecosystem's secrets, all meals and excursions, making this a seamless escape into one of India's most biodiverse regions. Whether you are seeking adventure, wildlife photography, or simply to be surrounded by pristine nature, the Creeks and Crocodiles offers an unforgettable journey into a world where humans and wildlife exist side by side.

Best Time to Visit Bhitarkanika
The ideal season for the Creeks and Crocodiles cruise is from October to April, when the weather is cool and pleasant, rivers and creeks are full of water, and wildlife is most active. October to April is the prime time for spotting saltwater crocodiles and migrating birds, with November to February offering the finest conditions. The sanctuary is usually closed for one week in January for the annual crocodile census. Avoid the monsoon season from June to September when waterways are rough and wildlife viewing is limited.
