A Short, Striking Introduction to the Caucasus

Azerbaijan has quietly become one of the more surprising additions to an outbound traveller's list, and this five day break pairs Baku's futuristic Flame Towers with the pine forested foothills of Gabala in the Caucasus mountains.

Walk through Baku's UNESCO listed Old City, past the Maiden Tower and Shirvanshah's Palace, then take in the illuminated modern skyline along the Caspian Sea boulevard. A drive into the mountains brings Gabala's cooler air, a cable car ride over forested hillsides, and a visit to the turquoise waters of Nohur Lake.

The package includes airport transfers, four nights across both destinations with daily breakfast, a Baku city tour and the Gabala cable car ride, arranged privately for a comfortable, easy-paced trip.

Best Time to Visit Azerbaijan

April to June and September to October bring the most comfortable weather to both Baku and Gabala, with mild temperatures ideal for walking the Old City and riding the cable car through the mountains. July and August turn hot in Baku though Gabala stays cooler thanks to its elevation, while winter months from November to February are cold, with occasional snow in Gabala that suits travellers interested in a quieter, wintry mountain visit.
