Land of Kings
Amber Fort in Jaipur, the lakes of Udaipur, Mehrangarh above the blue city of Jodhpur, the golden fort of Jaisalmer and tiger safaris in Ranthambore. Six Rajasthan holidays, from short breaks to a grand circuit.
About Rajasthan
Rajasthan is best seen as a chain of cities, each with its own colour: pink Jaipur with Amber Fort, Hawa Mahal and the City Palace; blue Jodhpur below the walls of Mehrangarh Fort; Udaipur, set around Lake Pichola; and golden Jaisalmer on the edge of the Thar Desert, where the Sam sand dunes are a sunset camel ride away.
Forts & Palaces of Rajasthan links seven of these places in one circuit, with Ranthambore, Chittorgarh Fort and the Ranakpur Jain temples on the way. Highlights Of Rajasthan is a shorter loop through Jaipur, Ajmer, Pushkar, Jodhpur and Udaipur. Desert Trails focuses on Jodhpur and Jaisalmer, Magical Mount Abu pairs Udaipur with the state's only hill station, Tiger Trails combines Ranthambore safaris with Jaipur, and Golden Triangle and Ajmer Pushkar Tour starts in Delhi and takes in Agra and the Taj Mahal before Jaipur, Ajmer and Pushkar.

When to go
October to March is the best time for every Rajasthan package: days are cool and sunny, ideal for fort climbs and desert evenings, and November and December are especially good, with dry weather and festival celebrations. For tiger sightings in Ranthambore, March to May gives the best visibility as animals gather at the remaining water.
April to June is hot in the plains and best suited to early starts, though Mount Abu stays cooler. July to September brings the monsoon and a brief green softness to the desert, and Ranthambore National Park is closed during these months.
