Best Time to Visit Cairo & Luxor

Egypt is best visited between October and April, when daytime temperatures are comfortable for hours of walking around open archaeological sites, especially in Luxor and Aswan where summer heat becomes extreme. May, June and September remain warm but manageable in the early mornings, while July and August bring temperatures that regularly exceed 40 degrees Celsius in Upper Egypt, best avoided for extensive sightseeing.
