Slovenia offers long-stay visas for employment, skilled migration, studies and residence. These visas differ significantly from short-stay Schengen visas in terms of duration, cost, processing time and requirements.
This one needs a consultation
Long-stay visas require employer sponsorship, university admission, or other specific qualifying criteria.
Processing times, fees and document requirements vary significantly based on your visa category and personal circumstances.
Our visa consultants evaluate your profile and recommend the most suitable long-stay pathway for your goals.
Inconsistencies across documents are the number one rejection trigger.
Submission and Embassy
Where your application is processed
VFS Global and Slovenian Embassy, Mumbai
Slovenia visa applications from India are processed at VFS Global Application Centres. The Mumbai VFS Global centre collects your documents, conducts biometrics (fingerprints and photograph) and submits your complete application to the Slovenian Embassy in New Delhi.
Biometrics (fingerprints and digital photograph) are mandatory for all applicants aged 6 and above. They are collected at the VFS Global centre during your appointment. Biometric validity is 59 months across all Schengen countries.
The Slovenian Embassy in New Delhi (with consular jurisdiction over Mumbai) reviews all applications and makes the final visa decision. Processing typically takes 10 to 20 working days from application submission. Applications must be submitted no more than 6 months before travel and no less than 15 days before intended travel date.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. The Schengen short stay visa allows you to travel to and within any Schengen member countries (Slovenia, Austria, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Greece and others). You can stay up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the entire Schengen area. However, Slovenia must be your primary destination for the visa to be issued by the Slovenian Embassy.
Standard processing time is 10 to 20 working days from the date your complete application is submitted to the Slovenian Embassy. During peak seasons (spring and summer) or if additional documents are requested, it may take longer. Our team tracks your application status throughout the process and communicates any updates to you.
Slovenia issues a sticker visa, which means the visa is physically stamped and affixed into your passport. You must carry your passport when you collect your visa from VFS Global after approval. The visa will be valid for the duration specified by the Embassy.
You need confirmed reservations showing your intended dates and accommodation in Slovenia. However, do not purchase non-refundable tickets until your visa is approved. A booking confirmation or hotel reservation (which can be cancelled) is sufficient for the application stage.
There is no official minimum. The Embassy looks at your overall financial profile. Typically, 3 to 6 months of bank statements showing stable funds sufficient for accommodation, meals and return travel, plus 2 years of Income Tax Returns, make a strong case. Our team helps you present your finances in the most convincing way.
