Travel Consultant

About the Role

We are looking for a Travel Consultant to join our holiday sales team in Malad West, Mumbai. You will speak with travellers who are planning family holidays, honeymoons, group tours and pilgrimages, understand what they want from the trip, and design an itinerary and quote that fits their dates and budget.

This is a hands on travel sales role. You will handle your own enquiries end to end, work closely with our operations, ticketing and visa colleagues, and be the main point of contact for your travellers until they are back home.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to holiday enquiries received by phone, WhatsApp, email and the website, and understand each traveller's dates, budget and interests.
• Design customised itineraries for domestic destinations such as Kashmir, Ladakh, Kerala and Rajasthan, and international destinations such as Dubai, Bali, Thailand and Europe.
• Prepare clear quotations with inclusions and exclusions listed, and explain the options to the traveller.
• Follow up on open enquiries and convert them into confirmed bookings.
• Coordinate with the operations, ticketing and visa teams so that hotels, flights, transfers and visas are confirmed on time.
• Share final itineraries, vouchers and travel documents with the traveller before departure.
• Stay available to travellers during their trip and help resolve any issue quickly.
• Keep enquiry and booking records up to date.

Experience and Requirements

• 1 to 3 years of experience as a travel consultant, holiday sales executive or tour consultant in a travel agency or with a tour operator.
• Good working knowledge of popular domestic and international holiday destinations, seasons and routes.
• Experience of costing a package and preparing a day wise itinerary.
• Clear spoken and written communication in English and Hindi.
• Comfortable with email, MS Excel and online hotel and supplier booking portals.

Qualifications

• Graduate in any discipline, or an equivalent qualification.
• A diploma or certificate in travel and tourism is welcome but not essential.

Good to Have

• Experience of selling both domestic and international packages.
• Basic understanding of visa requirements for popular destinations.
• Marathi or Gujarati speaking ability, which helps with many of our Mumbai travellers.
